Croydon's Transforming Croydon's Schools programme (TCS) is part of a Croydon Council £350m investment in schools to drive up standards and deliver the best in education. It will also help turn out well educated and able young men and women that are ready to start work, or go on to other forms of further education. There is further investment in sixth forms and three new academies.
Croydon Skills and Enterprise College offers a vast range of really relevant skills training and a new Enterprise College is taking shape that will focus on business and help more teachers to deliver enterprise education in schools across the borough.
Croydon also has university aspirations – Croydon College and the University of Sussex are forming a new partnership to validate degrees and develop Higher Education in the borough.
- 33% school students qualified to NVQ4 (national 29%)
- 73% of pupils gained five A*-C grade GCSEs
- 25% of the population is under 18
